National Parks

Kafue National Park

Kafue National Park, located in the heart of Zambia, is one of the largest and most diverse wildlife reserves in Africa, covering over 22,000 square kilometers. The park features vast landscapes that range from lush wetlands and riverine forests to open plains and woodlands. It is home to a remarkable variety of wildlife, including lions, leopards, African wild dogs, elephants, and many species of antelope. Kafue also provides excellent birdwatching opportunities, with over 500 recorded bird species. Its remoteness and low visitor numbers make it an ideal destination for those seeking an authentic wilderness experience. Visitors can enjoy game drives, walking safaris, and boat excursions, all of which offer unforgettable encounters with nature.

Kafue - Busanga Plains

Hidden away in northern Kafue National Park lies the Busanga Plains, a seasonal wetland ecosystem famed for its wide variety of antelope species and large prides of lion. Red lechwe leaping across shallow wetlands, lions hunting in golden grasses, and elephants emerging out of morning mist – this is the Busanga Plains experience. Found in the northern region of Zambia’s Kafue National Park, this remote wilderness is distinct from the miombo woodlands of the park. Instead, flat grassland dambos are dotted with date palms and sausage and fig trees. As the flood waters recede over June to November, the Busanga Plains become accessible for safaris characterised by outstanding game-viewing, predator action and colourful birdlife.
