The tour starts in Victoria Falls with its spectacular falls before flying to Hwange National Park, known for its spectacular big game viewing. Next, fly to Mana Pools, a paradise for walking and canoeing safaris, a wildlife-rich, biodiverse wonderland that will delight you at every turn. End the tour with a stop at Lake Kariba, with its eternal shimmering waters and wildlife-rich shoreline.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Johannesburg / Victoria Falls

    Flights with Fastjet from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls Airport. You will be met at Victoria Falls Airport and transferred to your hotel near the mighty Zambezi River. Afternoon transfer to the Zambezi River for your Sundowner Cruise. Enjoy the opportunity to see a variety of wildlife, including hippos, crocodiles, and elephants as well as many different bird species. The Sundowner cruise includes local drinks and some tasty snacks to enjoy while watching the sunset in one of the most beautiful scenes in Africa. 

    Stay: Victoria Falls Safari Lodge (Waterhole Facing Room)

  • Day 2: Victoria Falls

    After breakfast enjoys a guided tour of Victoria Falls - a truly awe-inspiring experience. Be accompanied through the rainforest by a qualified guide who will give you a brief history of the Falls as well as be detailing the flora, fauna, bird & wildlife, and other points of interest. Stroll along the forested paths along the network of trails leading to 16 different viewpoints, all dazzling you with stunning and impressive scenes of this powerful and enormous curtain of water.

    The afternoon is spent at your leisure or enjoy some of the exciting activities available (for your account). Enjoy scenic flights over the falls in a helicopter or micro lights, bungee jumping off the Victoria Falls Bridge, white-water rafting (seasonal), or book a unique experience such as the Elephant Encounter and walk with giants.

    End the day by enjoying the famous Boma Dinner. The Boma offers a unique experience that bombards the senses with the tastes, sights, sounds, and smells of Africa. Specializing in a superb selection of traditional Zimbabwean dishes, The Boma offers a four-course meal combining a mouthwatering choice of starters from the kitchen, soup from the campfire, and a substantial barbeque buffet served on cast iron plates. A feast of nightly entertainment incorporates Amakwezi traditional dancers, singers, and local storytellers. After dinner, guests are invited to join in the drumming extravaganza. This is the highlight of the evening, and all are invited to participate in the drumming and dancing show with their renowned drummers.

  • Day 3: Victoria Falls / Hwange National Park

    Intercamp Flight

    Transfer to Victoria Falls Airport where you will be met by our representative who will assist you to the light aircraft for your flight to Manga Airstrip in Hwange National Park, pronounced ‘Wang-ee’. Meet your guide on arrival with a 30-minute transfer to the camp (can take longer, depending on sighting along the way). Expect to discover savanna, dense acacia forests, and highly frequented waterholes where wildlife can be seen up close. Tucked away on an Acacia island along the edge of an ancient seasonal floodplain, the camp is the perfect place to take in the beauty of the park and find inspiration and rejuvenation in the heart of the African wilderness. Built around an elephant drinking hole, the camp is visited frequently by these giants as well as other wildlife – the ultimate ‘slow safari’ experience for those lounging by the pool or relaxing on the deck. You will be able to head out on an afternoon activity after settling into camp.

  • Day 4: Hwange National Park

    Spend the day amidst this pristine wilderness area and enjoy bush walks led by qualified and passionate guides, game drives in open 4×4 safari vehicles, or enjoys an “armchair safari” with an abundance of wildlife gathering around the waterhole in front of the camp. Hwange is well known for its variety of wildlife including thousands of elephants and rare antelope species such as Sable and Roan Antelope.

    Stay: Somalisa Camp (Tent)

  • Day 5: Hwange National Park / Mana Pools National Park

    Intercamp Flight

    Enjoy a morning activity before your flight by light aircraft to the Mana Pools National Park. We make our way to the river’s edge to experience Mana Pools on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. Mana is one of the few true wildernesses where you can encounter elephants, lions, and wild dogs in close proximity. Large concentrations of buffalo and elephants are regularly found along the river's edges, while predators such as lions, wild dogs, and leopards are often sighted.

    Stay: Nyamatusi Camp (Tented Suite)

  • Day 6 & 7: Mana Pools National Park

    Enjoy 2 full days in Mana Pools with a variety of activities to choose from. Mana Pools is also known for its abundance and enormous, beautiful trees providing shade and making it ideal for walking. Canoe trips offer a unique and memorable way to experience the area’s striking scenic beauty and diverse fauna, while guided walks are a great way to take its pristine riverside forests. Birdlife is superb, particularly for mopane woodland and riverine species, with numerous local specials like collared palm-thrush, racket-tailed roller, purple-banded sunbird, and black-throated wattle-eyes.

    Stay: Nyamatusi Camp (Tented Suite)

  • Day 8: Mana Pools National Park / Lake Kariba

    Intercamp Flight

    Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before your transfer to Mana Main Airstrip for your flight with light aircraft to Bumi Hills Airstrip at Lake Kariba. 

    Meet your guide on arrival with a 5-minute transfer to the lodge. There are various exciting and relaxing activities, including game drives (vehicle & boat), fishing, and stunning game walks.

    Stay: Bumi Hills Safari Lodge (Lake View Room).

    Meals: Lunch, dinner, breakfast, and a selection of alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks

  • Day 9: Lake Kariba

    Enjoy a full day of discovering the shoreline of Lake Karibu and one of Africa’s finest wilderness locations. Explore Bumi Hill’s private concession by open safari vehicle, giving you a full 180-degree panoramic view of the African savanna in search of iconic animal species. Or, with the lake as your playground, spend your days cruising on the water or meandering the surroundings on a walking safari. Lake Kariba is a fantastic fishing location, and the famous tiger fish is found in abundance in addition to a variety of other species.

    Stay: Bumi Hills Safari Lodge (Lake View Room)

  • Day 10: Lake Kariba / Harare Airport / Johannesburg

    Intercamp Flight

    Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before your transfer to the Airstrip for your flight with light aircraft to Harare Airport for your onward flight home, departing at 13h25 and arriving at 15h20.
