Rovos Rail - SA to Vic Falls

Enjoy a three night journey on the Rovos Rail from South Africa to the breathtaking Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe . With unparalleled views of Africa's magnificent landscapes and sights the train winds its way north through Warmbaths, so named for its mineral waters. Then through Nylstroom, christened by the Voortrekkers as the source of the Nile River. The train then passes the edge of the escarpment and cross the Tropic of Capricorn before crossing the border into Zimbabwe for the final stretch to Victoria Falls on the mighty Zambezi River . A 1600 kilometre journey, linking Pretoria to the Victoria Falls.


Itinerary

  • Day 1: Pretoria / Victoria Falls

    The train departs Rovos Rail Station in Pretoria.  The train travels north through Warmbaths and Nylstroom, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn.

  • Day 2: En-route to Vicotira Falls

    The train travels towards Bulawayo via West Nicholson.

  • Day 3: En-route to Victoria Falls

    Travel along the eastern edge of Hwange National Park along one of Africa’s longest stretches of straight railway line – 114 kilometres. Afternoon game drive at The Hide.

  • Day 4: Arrive at the Victoria Falls

    The train journey's end as you arrive at Victoria Falls. Enjoy a guided tour of the Victoria Falls and discover one of Africa's most beautiful treasures.

  • Day 5: Victoria Falls / Johannesburg

    Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before your transfer to Victoria Falls Airport for your onwards flight home.

    End of service

  • 3 nights on board the Rovos Rail Train on an all-inclusive base (all meals, drinks & activities).
  • Game drive at The Hide in Hwange.
  • 1 night at The Victoria Falls Hotel (breakfast included).
  • 1 x Guided Tour of the Victoria Falls (park fee included).
