Arusha is the hub of Tanzania's legendary Northern safari circuit and home to Mt Kilimanjaro, the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire, and Lake Manyara National Parks. Arusha is also one of the major coffee-growing regions in Tanzania.

After breakfast, we drive to the Ngorongoro Crater. We pass Lake Manyara with a stop at the African Galleria (for shopping Tanzania art, Masaai blankets, memorabilia, and Tanzanites), before driving to our lodge situated on the rim of the Crater.

After breakfast, we descend down the crater to enjoy an extended game drive along the Crater floor. A steep entry track leads us 600m down to the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater floor (referred to as the Garden of Eden). A big drawcard of this picturesque park is its dense population of predators, including lions, hyenas, jackals, and the ever-elusive leopard. People like to visit the crater at this time of year because of the large likelihood of encountering the Big 5. Late afternoon ascent to the crater rim with a short drive back to our lodge.

Your journey continues to the Southern part of the Serengeti. National Park. En-route you can opt to visit a Maasai Village near Ngorongoro Crater. (The Maasai charge US$30 per person - for your account).
After bidding the Maasai farewell, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, located in the southeastern plains of the Serengeti ecosystem. The plains of the Conservation Area are the main holding ground for migratory animals where vast herds congregate and linger for more than four months, from December to April, before they start moving across the Serengeti in search of greener pastures and water. Afternoon game drives.

For a once in a lifetime experience, we highly recommend an early morning hot air balloon safaris (will be for your account) – a unique 'bird's eye' game viewing experience, before landing in the beautiful wilderness and enjoying a full bush-style breakfast, complete with fresh coffee, tea, fruits, and champagne.
Enjoy two full days with morning and afternoon game drives (or a full day game drive – your choice). The Calving Season is best spent in the Conservation Area of the southern Serengeti, with all these baby zebras, gazelle and wildebeest stumbling around on their wobbly legs, the number of predators in the area reaches an all-time high during this period of the year. Another unique feature of the game drives in this area is off-road driving, which allows us to approach wildlife for closer viewing off the designated routes.

Check out at the camp after a packed safari filled with endless memories and sightings, and drive to the airstrip for our flight by light aircraft to Arusha, where we stop at the Cultural Heritage Center (for shopping of Tanzanian art, memorabilia, and Tanzanites), and enjoy our picnic lunch. Our safari adventure comes to an end as we drive to Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward flight home.

Tanzania’s flagship park, covering ~14,763 km² of rolling plains, kopjes, and riverine forests. The Serengeti hosts Earth’s greatest large-mammal migration: each year nearly 2 million wildebeest, zebras and gazelles follow the rains in a epic circular trek. It’s also famed for its predators – the vast plains sustain around 3,000 lions, plus many leopards, cheetahs, hyenas – offering some of the most spectacular wildlife viewing on the planet.
The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera and is regarded as the 8th wonder of the world. It is one of the most diverse and fascinating areas of Tanzania and has been given the status of a World heritage site and International Biosphere Reserve. The fertile slopes and steep forest-covered walls are home to approximately 30,000 animals including the rare black rhino. The various ecosystems found within the 260 square kilometre crater floor sustain Cape buffalo, elephants, wildebeest, zebras, elands, gazelles, hippos, numerous bird species as well as a high concentration of predators. Although birdlife is generally good throughout the year, from November to April, migratory birds from Europe and Northern Africa are present and many resident birds are in breeding plumage.
