Itinerary (Day by Day)

Flight from Johannesburg to Kilimanjaro Airport. Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, our friendly safari team will greet you and assist you with your transfer to Arusha. Arusha is the gateway to Tanzania's famous Northern safari circuit and is in close proximity to notable attractions such as Mount Kilimanjaro, the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park, and Lake Manyara National Park. Additionally, Arusha is one of Tanzania's key coffee-growing regions.

Accommodation: Forest Hill Lodge
Room Type: Standard Room
Meals Included: Lunch, Dinner, and Breakfast

After breakfast, we will meet our guide for a brief orientation. We will then set off for Tarangire National Park, often referred to as the "land of giants" due to its impressive elephants and iconic baobab trees. Leaving Arusha behind, we’ll drive to the park for an exhilarating game drive. The landscape is characteristically African, featuring open Acacia woodlands with baobab trees dotting the area. Tarangire boasts the highest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem. In the late afternoon, we will head toward the local town of Mto Wa Mbu, which translates to "Mosquito Village" in Maasai. This unique village represents all 120 ethnic groups found in Tanzania. Bananas are the main export of the area, and you will find over thirty species of bananas here, including a distinctive red banana that we highly recommend you try! After exploring the village, we will continue our ascent up the Rift Valley escarpment to our lodge.

Accommodation: Bougainvillea Safari Lodge
Room Type: Standard Room
Meals: Picnic lunch, dinner & breakfast

Our journey continues toward the misty Ngorongoro Highlands, where we will stop at the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater for your first spectacular view of this natural wonder. The Ngorongoro Crater and its surrounding highlands form one of Africa's most beautiful regions. On our way, you have the option to visit a nearby Maasai village (the Maasai charge $30 per person, which will be at your expense). After bidding the Maasai farewell, we will head to the Central Serengeti, where we can spend the afternoon enjoying game viewing. The Central area includes the world-famous Seronera Valley, known for prime wildlife viewing. The Serengeti is celebrated for its impressive concentrations of predators and the Great Migration, WHICH features over 1.5 million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebras.

Stay: Signature Serengeti Luxury Tented Camp
Room Type: Tent

**Balloon Safari - Optional**

For a truly unforgettable experience, we highly recommend an early morning hot air balloon safari (at your own expense). This unique ‘bird’s-eye’ view allows for spectacular game viewing, followed by a landing in the beautiful wilderness where you can indulge in a full bush-style breakfast. This breakfast includes fresh coffee, tea, fruits, and champagne. Alternatively, you can enjoy two full-day game drives to explore more of what the Serengeti has to offer. This is the perfect opportunity to witness the world’greatest wildlife spectacle—the incredible migration of massive herds of wildebeest, which call the Central Serengeti home during this time of year.

Stay: Signature Serengeti Luxury Tented Camp
Room: Tent
Meals: Lunch, dinner & breakfast

An early morning start is required today as we bid farewell to the Serengeti and drive to Ngorongoro Crater for an extended game drive along the crater floor. A steep entry track leads us 600 meters down to the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater floor, often referred to as the "Garden of Eden." The crater floor consists of several distinct areas, including forests, swamps, lakes, springs, and open grasslands teeming with incredible wildlife. A drive through the forest will offer you breathtaking views of some of the most vibrant green vegetation you will ever encounter. In the late afternoon, we will drive back to the access point, followed by a short drive to your lodge.

Stay: Marera Valley Lodge
Room: Standard room
Meals: Dinner, breakfast & packed lunch

Today, we take it a bit easier after an action-packed safari filled with unforgettable memories and incredible sightings. We start our day with a leisurely breakfast accompanied by some fantastic Kilimanjaro coffee. Afterward, we drive back to Arusha, stopping at the Cultural Heritage Centre to shop for Tanzanian art, memorabilia, and Tanzanite. We also enjoy a picnic lunch before transferring to Kilimanjaro Airport for our flight back home.
