Flight from Johannesburg to Windhoed Airport. The package includes return economy airfare with Airlink from Johannesburg to Windhoek Airport (departing at 06h30, arriving at 08h40). Meet and greet by our representative at Windhoek Airport. Depart Windhoek and drive southwest through the scenic Khomas Hochland highlands before heading down the Great Escarpment into the Namib Desert below, stopping for a picnic lunch at a scenic location along the way. You arrive at Desert Hills Lodge in the midafternoon, where you will stay for two nights whilst you explore the remarkable sights of the Namib Desert with your guide. Enjoy a scenic sundowner drive in the nearby area, or if you prefer, you can just relax and soak in the scenic and tranquil surroundings at the Lodge.

This morning you will rise early for a magical excursion into the Namib Naukluft National Park, entering the Park gates at sunrise to capture the dunes. At the same time, the light is soft, and shadows accentuate their towering shapes and curves. This area boasts some of the highest free-standing dunes in the world. Your guide will give you an insight into the formation of the Namib Desert and its myriad of fascinating creatures and plants that have adapted to survive these harsh environments. Once you have explored the areas around Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, you can enjoy a relaxing picnic breakfast in the shade of a camel thorn tree. Return to Lodge in the early afternoon for a late lunch. The rest of the afternoon at your leisure (from experience, this is usually welcomed after an exhilarating morning in the dunes), or you can opt to head out again with your guide to visit the stunning Sesriem Canyon for spectacular sunset landscape photography opportunities.

If you're looking for a Namibian desert safari, this fascinating drive today takes you northwest through the extraordinary and ever-changing desert landscapes of the Namib Naukluft National Park, including the impressive Gaub and Kuiseb Canyons. Continue north to Swakopmund where you can enjoy the pleasant seaside location and cooler coastal air. The rest of the afternoon can be spent relaxing at your hotel or exploring the town and wandering along the waterfront on foot if desired before freshening up and joining your guide for dinner.

After an early breakfast, your guide will drive you along the scenic coastal road south to Walvis Bay for memorable catamaran boat cruises within the outer lagoon. Here you should see Cape fur seals, Heaviside and bottlenose dolphins, pelicans, flamingos and a wide variety of other seabirds. If luck is on your side, there is also a chance of seeing whales, leatherback turtles and sunfish. During the excursion, snacks will be served along with local sparkling wine and fresh oysters before you will return to the jetty at around midday.
You then have the opportunity to explore the waterfront area of Walvis Bay further before returning to Swakopmund for an afternoon at leisure. Activities such as camel rides, scenic flights, sandboarding and more can all be booked at an extra cost with your guide or the hotel.

Today’s journey takes you north along the coastline, stopping over at the haunting remains of the Zeila Shipwreck before heading inland towards the scenic countryside of Damaraland. The afternoon may either be spent at leisure or exploring the intriguing rock engravings of Twyfelfontein (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) before returning to the camp for a sundowner drink. Damaraland is typified by displays of color, magnificent table-topped mountains, rock formations, and bizarre-looking vegetation. The present-day landscape has been formed by the erosion of wind, water, and geological forces, which have formed rolling hills, dunes, gravel plains, and ancient river terraces. It is the variety and loneliness of the area and the scenic splendor that will reward and astound you, giving you an accurate understanding of the word 'wilderness'.

Today are dedicated to exploring this remarkable and fascinating area with your guide. After an early breakfast, you will be treated to a memorable 4x4 excursion along the ephemeral Aba Huab River valleys to explore this remarkable region and to search for a game, including the elusive desert-adapted elephants if they are in the area. Damaraland is home to a variety of desert-adapted wildlife and hidden desert treasures. As the elephants are mainly active in the mornings, you will typically have the best chance to see them before returning to camp for lunch. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure, with the option to explore the area further with your guide if appeals or visit Twyfelfontein if you did not do so the previous day. This evening you can enjoy some pre-dinner drinks whilst admiring the stunning views of your surroundings at sunset.

Leave behind the beauty of Damaraland and head east towards the sprawling bushveld of the Etosha National Park, entering the Andersson Gate. Check in at the camp for a light lunch, after which you can depart on your first game drive inside the Park with your guides, returning just before sunset to freshen up for dinner.

Today’s journey takes you through the breadth of the Etosha National Park as you game drive your way east via selected waterholes and the myriad of roads that snake through the Park. You may either opt for a picnic lunch at a scenic location or have lunch at any of the Camps inside the Park. You will have to leave the Park before sunset to reach your next destination, Mushara Lodge, where you will stay for two nights as you explore the Park to your heart's content.

This morning you depart early and drive south towards the capital city of Windhoek, stopping en route for a light lunch (included), before continuing your journey to Windhoek for your last evening. In the morning, relax at your guesthouse, explore Windhoek, visit NamCrafts and the Craft Centre, or do some last-minute souvenir shopping if time allows. One of Africa’s largest conservation areas, spanning over 49,000 km², the Namib-Naukluft Park protects part of the world’s oldest desert — the Namib. It is famous for the towering red dunes of Sossusvlei, some exceeding 300 metres in height, and the striking white clay pans of Deadvlei. The park encompasses dramatic landscapes of gravel plains, mountains, and canyons, supporting unique desert-adapted wildlife such as oryx, springbok, ostrich, and the elusive brown hyena.
Namibia’s premier wildlife reserve, spanning ~22,270 km² around the vast Etosha salt pan (a “Great White Place” visible from space). Surrounding grasslands and bush savannah support thousands of animals – including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, rhinos and antelopes – which gather at waterholes, especially in the dry season, offering spectacular game viewing both day and night.
