One of Africa’s largest conservation areas, spanning over 49,000 km², the Namib-Naukluft Park protects part of the world’s oldest desert — the Namib. It is famous for the towering red dunes of Sossusvlei, some exceeding 300 metres in height, and the striking white clay pans of Deadvlei. The park encompasses dramatic landscapes of gravel plains, mountains, and canyons, supporting unique desert-adapted wildlife such as oryx, springbok, ostrich, and the elusive brown hyena.
