A UNESCO World Heritage Site protecting Africa’s second-highest mountain, Mount Kenya (5,199 m), and its surrounding ecosystems. The 2,800 km² park features a remarkable range of habitats by altitude – from bamboo and montane forests through high-altitude moorland to glaciers – and is home to elephants, buffalo, monkeys (including Colobus and Sykes’ monkeys) and rare high-altitude species, all amid stunning alpine scenery.
