A rugged wilderness area on the southern shores of Lake Kariba in northwestern Zimbabwe. Once a haven for Black rhinos (part of “Operation Noah”), Matusadona now offers an excellent Big Five experience – with elephants, lions, buffalo, leopards, and plenty of hippos and crocodiles along the lake. Its mix of flat grassy shoreline and rugged inland mountains provides scenic boat and fishing tours on the lake as well as traditional game drives in a less-visited setting.
