An eastern DRC park (~6,000 km²) spanning both mountainous and lowland terrain. Established in 1970, it shelters the rare Grauer’s (eastern lowland) gorillas – the planet’s largest gorilla subspecies – along with rich flora (1,178 plant species) and many other primates, mammals and birds.
