A small (137 km²) gem just 35 km from Arusha town, Arusha NP protects the forested slopes of Mount Meru along with the Momella Lakes and Ngurdoto Crater. Despite its size it offers varied experiences – from montane rainforests alive with black-and-white colobus monkeys and birds, to sparkling alkaline lakes where flamingos feed – all in view of the towering Meru and distant Kilimanjaro.
