CHOBE PRINCESSES: 

As you drift down the Chobe River, you will be exposed to incredible game viewing from several mooring points along the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers. Hop on the smaller tender boats and see wildlife from the water: a completely different experience from a game drive, as animals are more relaxed and at ease. There are three 18-meter Chobe Princess houseboats: one 5-suite vessel and two 4-suite vessels. Beautifully decorated in contemporary style, these suites make the most of their unbeatable river setting with large sliding windows giving you your private view of the ever-changing landscapes before you.


Itinerary

  • Day 1: Kasane Airport / Chobe Princess Houseboat

    Road & boat transfer to the Chobe Princess (via Botswana & Namibia immigration offices). With only a small number of guests per houseboat, a stay aboard provides a sense of intimacy and exclusivity for every guest.

    Stay: Chobe Princess Houseboat (Standard Cabin)

    Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner & selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks

  • Day 2 - 4: Houseboat

    With 2 and 3 nights departures - you can choose how many nights you would like to spend on board!

    These luxurious riverboats capture the spirit and adventure of a bygone era in a contemporary African waterside setting.  The boats explore up to 50 kilometers of the Zambezi and Chobe river systems and provide exceptional wildlife viewing, bird-watching, and tiger-fishing opportunities.

    Stay: Chobe Princess Houseboat (Standard Cabin)

    Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner & selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks

  • Day 4: Houseboat / Kasane Airport

    End your safari soaking up the last of the African sunshine before your transfer to Kasane Airport for your onward flight home.

National Parks

Chobe National Park

The Chobe National Park is the second largest national park in Botswana and has one of the largest concentrations of game spotted on the African continent. Its uniqueness in the wealth of wildlife and the true African nature of the region, presents a safari experience of a lifetime. Chobe National Park is famous for its elephants. It is not uncommon to encounter herds in excess of a hundred at a time. The latest enquiry into the elephant population estimates it to be 120,000 - the highest elephant concentration in Africa and the largest continuous surviving elephant population on earth. The Chobe elephants are migratory, making seasonal movements of up to 200km from the Chobe and Linyanti rivers, where they congregate in the dry season, to the pans in the south-east of the park during the rainy season. Game viewing from the river is a spectacular showcase of the huge diversity of Chobe’s wildlife. It is hard to describe the feeling you get as you glide past hippos and crocodiles while elephants, zebras, buffaloes and even lions have an evening drink against the backdrop of a sunset- sky painted in rich colours. 

Over 460 bird species have been recorded in the park, making it one of Africa’s premier venues for bird safaris. Common species include the sacred ibis, Egyptian geese, the ubiquitous cormorants and darters, spur-winged geese, Pel’s fishing owl, carmine bee-eaters, most members of the kingfisher family, all the rollers, fish eagles, the martial eagle and many members of the stork family.
